On 13-14 October 2025, the Second Regional Dialogue of Central Asian Parliamentarians on Circular Economy took place in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was organized by the EU SWITCH-Asia Programme (Policy Support Component) in cooperation with the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC). The dialogue brought together parliamentarians, representatives of ministries, international organizations, experts, and business representatives from five countries of the region - Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

From August 21st to 25th, 2023, the Tian-Shan Policy Center organized a summer environmental camp for students "Sustainable Natural Resource Management and GIS in Chychkan." The objectives of the event were to raise students' awareness about the importance of preserving the Chychkan Gorge ecosystem and conducting research on the use of natural resources in this unique complex.

"Promoting Energy and Resource Efficiency in the Tourism Industry of Kyrgyzstan" (PERETO) project is being implemented by the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) in consortium with partner organizations: UNISON Group (Kyrgyzstan), Technopolis Group (Belgium), Collaborating Center on Sustainable Consumption and Production - 小SCP (Germany).

Today marks the successful conclusion of this year's three-day Summer Workshop on Policy Labs, organized by the Tian Shan Policy Center under the "Learning by Doing: Policy Labs and Civic Engagement" program. This workshop continued our mission of connecting academic policy research curriculums with organizations, practitioners, and policy makers committed to addressing global challenges of sustainable and peaceful development.

Integrating energy and resource efficiency into tourism education in Kyrgyzstan is crucial for sustainable development. With support from the EU funded SWITCH-Asia PERETO project, several universities have updated their curricula to foster a greener future.

On May 6 and 7, the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) hosted Pavel Kiparisov, a Ph.D. candidate at the Central European University (CEU), for an enlightening workshop on geospatial sciences. Organized as part of OSUN's GeoHub project, the workshop, titled "Mapping for Policy Change: A Beginner's Guide to ArcGIS鈥�" was well attended by both AUCA and TSI faculty and students.

The authors of the yearbook are experts: Leyla Delovarova (section on Kazakhstan), Tatiana Zlobina (section on Kyrgyzstan), Dmitry Poletaev (sections on Russia and Turkmenistan), Saodat Olimova (section on Tajikistan), Lyudmila Maksakova (section on Uzbekistan).

Within OSUN's GeoHub project, we held the next event at Central European University in Vienna, Austria. On February 23rd, Daniyar Karabaev from the LAS department AUCA, Kanat Sultanaliev and Otabek Nigmatov from the Tian-Shan Policy Center AUCA, gave a talk for CEU students in the Environmental Studies department.
